Recently a woman in her mid twenties was sexually assulted in her home. The guy was supposively a friend of hers. She tutored his children. He stopped by her house to see if he could talk to her. this was the first time she had let him in her home the entire time they've been friends. She showed him around and the next thing she knew he had her in a choke/sleeper hold. she pasted out. when she came to he was still inside of her. she tried to reach for the knife under her pillow but he ended up using it against her. tellin her he would kill her if she screamed out. she didn't want to wake her three children up and so she did as she was told. after he left her house she called the cops. she had the rape kit done took a lie detector test and told them who the guy was. the cops are too busy to investigate the crime. It's been three weeks since the crime had happened and nothing is being done. she asked me why does this happen? I didn't know what to tell her except that God will heal her in time. so how do single moms protect themselves in their own home? it's not right that anyone should ever go through that and cops being too busy to help. what do i tell her on how to keep herself and her children safe?
